Third Generation family member to own Logans Pianos, Geoff, like his father and grandfather before him, is a qualified piano technician and tuner. Much of the knowledge and experience of the two previous generations has been handed down from father to son, giving Geoff a vast knowledge of pianos, not only of instruments made in his lifetime but those of previous eras.
It is true to say the Logans have made "piano preparation" a way of life, not just a job, and in 2010 will celebrate 90 years of continuous retail to the people of Sydney. Geoff can be found most working hours at our Burwood store and would be happy to answer your questions and advise on the piano most suitable for your needs.
Over the past ten years Logans have taken on a new look and one of the changes has been sheet music. Bronwyn has taken on the considerable challenge of finding sheet music to satisfy peoples needs for all genres and instruments. Today Bronwyn is considered to be one of the foremost authorities on AMEB distributed products and can be relied upon to track down any and all sheet music available in Australia.
It's fair to say many people need sheet music in a hurry and Logans pride themselves on how fast they fill special orders for customers. All customers are contacted as soon as the music arrives or informed if distributors are out of stock.
Unlike Chris’ preceding 3 generations, he is not a piano technician, however he has a love of musical instruments and a solid knowledge of everything displayed in our General Musical Instrument section. He has visited the factories of many of the manufacturers of the products sold in store and has specialised skills, working on the regulation of guitars and violins. There is little doubt that Chris will extend the Logans trademark into the fourth generation and maybe beyond. For the best advice on musical instruments at great prices, talk to Chris.
James is the newest member of our team, but only because he was the hardest to find. Logans needed someone to fill the considerable shoes of both Bronwyn and Chris, to cover holidays and illness, but also someone who fitted the family style of business. James has had extensive experience in the performing arts and speaks with experience on all things musical or theatrical. James brings much to the Logan family business along with the “good bloke” tag.
Peter first joined Logans in 1987 after closing a musical instrument shop in Hurstville where he had mostly sold electronic organs. Today Peter works with Geoff in the piano department, specialising in digital pianos, but also a strong advocate of quality upright and grand pianos. Peter’s decades of experience in music retail and teaching will assist you in selecting the right piano for your needs. Ask Peter for a demo today.
Greg joined Logans in 1997 as an apprentice Piano technician. In that capacity he had a unique opportunity to do much of his training on grand pianos and be trained by true experts in the field. In past years Greg has completed further advancement courses and today is regarded as one of the very best at regulation, voicing and tuning of grand pianos in Australia. Although Greg now spends time on the road working on pianos, he chooses to spend much of his time in the store at Logans putting the final touches to grand pianos being prepared for delivery.
The most important part of a stringed instruments life is the initial regulation (or set up). Logans are very proud to have Aram working with us to set up all our new violins, violas, cellos and Bass. Aram is also available for ongoing repairs and set ups for customer's instruments. Aram is a violinist with an outstanding history, having won international competitions in both Russia and Italy as well as being awarded a Churchill Fellow in 2001. Aram has been making and repairing violins since 1986 and ensures that all Logans stringed instruments have a touch of class before sale.
