Buying a Piano, if you choose carefully, is a "Once in a lifetime" decision. It is important for you to buy from someone who has a history in the piano business, who knows what they are selling, and who will be there in the years to come to provide you with the continuing service that your piano will need. The knowledge gained throughout our eight decades of experience guarantees you the choice of top quality pianos at competitive prices, combined with excellent service.
We have found that 70% of our business comes through recommendations from satisfied clients. These recommendations mostly depend on the good performance of our pianos long after they have been delivered. We therefore CHOOSE and PREPARE our pianos VERY carefully
All new pianos, before leaving their factory, are tuned and regulated. Piano components, including wood, felt and doeskin have a tendency to "bed down" and change in thickness for some time, thus altering the regulation and performance of the piano. All manufacturers insist that their new pianos should be regulated again before being sold.
As production schedules in factories only allow for a certain amount of time to be spent on each piano, much of the finishing work is left to whoever sells the piano. This work is vital to the lasting qualities of any piano, can save large future repair bills, and is designed to bring out the characteristics inherent in its design. A large percentage of pianos sold receive no more than tuning at this most important stage in their lives, often being uncrated and delivered direct from the warehouse.
In 1992, members of the Piano Tuners Guild of NSW assessed the cost of a pre-delivery service for a new upright piano at about $550 to $600. Although this costs much more today, Logans fully regulate and prepare every piano at no extra cost to you.
Every piano sold by Logans is completely regulated and tuned several times before delivery. You will also receive a free stool, warranty, free tuning after delivery and we can arrange continued maintenance afterwards. The knowledge and experience gained over the past eighty years, when applied to a new piano through regulation and tuning, ensures a Logans Piano will deliver the best possible performance and the greatest enjoyment for many decades to come.
