Today's Les Paul Custom is based on the model from the mid 1950s, but with several modern appointments.
The body is crafted with a hand carved maple top, which is fitted to a body made from a solid piece of
mahogany with strategically routed holes to lessen the weight of the guitar. The neck is also made from one
solid piece of mahogany then topped by a 22 fret ebony fingerboard outfitted with figured acrylic block
inlays and given Gibson's traditional rounded profile. The pickups are Gibson's 490R in the neck position,
and the 498T in the bridge position. Other appointments include Gibson's legendary Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar
tailpiece, metal tulip tuners, multi-ply white and black binding on both the top and back
and gold hardware. Available in Antique White, Ebony, Heritage Cherry Sun
Burst, Wine Red and Silver Burst.

You asked for it— you got it. Introducing the Les Paul Traditional from Gibson USA. With all the fat,
sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the Traditional plays, sounds, and weighs like the Les
Pauls today’s players grew up loving and lusting after. Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls
of the '80s and '90s, the Les Paul Traditional starts with an unchambered mahogany body with traditional
weight-relief holes for a beefy tone that maintains the resonance of modern Les Pauls. Each Les Paul
Traditional also comes with Gibson USA's standard black snakeskin case.

The original Robot Guitar took the guitar world by storm when it was first introduced in December '07, but the new Dark Fire from Gibson is simply the most advanced guitar system ever developed. In fact, many of the technological advances on the Dark Fire were virtually inconceivable just a few years ago; the powerhead tuners, the tuning brain, the battery function and the sonic capabilities of a fully digital guitar make the new Dark Fire a virtual upgrade in every respect. Perhaps most impressive is Gibson's new Chameleon Tone Technology, which allows you to change your guitar's tone to match countless environments and to recreate any guitar sound you ever lusted after. The Dark Fire has arrived, and it's guaranteed to give you a new, stunning level of tonal and functional freedom.

guitars was heating up in the mid 1950s, Gibson branched out into new directions that would eventually
yield a wide variety of new and innovative Gibson products at various price points. Among those new
products was the Les Paul Junior single cutaway model, which quickly became Gibson's best selling model
and the instrument of choice for such legends as Leslie West, Steve Marriott, Keith Richards, Mick Ralphs,
Mick Jones and Paul Westerberg.

Gibson's "Golden Era"— the late 1950s and early 1960s— is best known for the emergence of the company's
iconic Les Paul Standard. But the Les Paul wasn't the company's best selling guitar during this historic
period. That title belongs to the legendary Melody Maker. Today's Melody Maker is a loving tribute to the
style and spirit of the 1959 edition of that beloved guitar. It is also remains one of Gibson's most
popular models, as well as it's most affordable USA-made guitar.
